While not a new concept for a photography company to have a studio, it is something new for us! We are excited to announced that we have just signed a lease on some beautiful studio space in downtown Fayetteville, right behind the Walton Arts Center. Located in a historic building with high ceilings and hardwood floors, our quaint studio will feature plenty of shooting space for maternity, newborns, kids, and families. It will be a great place to start engagement and bridal shoots. We can take some pictures in the studio, then walk right out to Dickson Street and the downtown area for outdoor photos. We will have a separate room for meeting clients and holding meeting for those interested in having us photograph their wedding. While Kori and I will still have our day-to-day production work in our home (phones, email, editing, etc.) we are looking forward to being able to meet all of our clients in our studio! Keep watching the blog for pictures of the new space as well as information about complimentary photo shoots during our opening. We are very excited to provide a studio to our clients!
We hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! We spent the weekend in Hot Springs, but not for romance! We had three kids and Kori's parent's in tow! But it was great because we were there for Autumn's cheerleading competition. See pictures below! Kori and I are going to celebrate Valentine's Day later in March. We are thinking of either spending a weekend in Hot Springs, or Canada. Either one!
We are ready to be back at work and although Monday is kind of our weekend, we did manage to book two new weddings! Congratulations to Whitney and David getting married on August 21 at the Botanical Gardens in Fayetteville, and also congratulations to Elizabeth and Derrek, getting married on the lawn of Old Main on May 15, 2010. We're looking forward to your weddings!
We were so proud when Autumn's cheerleading team, the PCA Jewels, took first prize in their division at the Athletic Championships in Hot Springs this weekend! It was a 2-day competition, which was a little different, and it was a close one too! They only beat out the second-place team by a few hundredths of a point, but they did it!
Those girls work so hard, and we were excited to see it pay off for them. Not to mention that their routine really is amazing to watch! Good job, ladies! We can't wait for next time!
We are booking weddings for 2010 and 2011. Congratulations to Brandy and David who just contracted for us to photograph their wedding on July 17, 2010. We will be looking forward to it!
From our last snow on February 1st. Sledding at Wilson Park and making a "snowman family" in our yard.
Well yes, congratulations Kori for being 9 weeks pregnant :-) but also congratulations for placing not once, but twice in the latest contest of the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalism Association. The WPJA is made up of thousands of top notch wedding photographers across the entire planet, so to even place in the Top 20 is a huge deal for any wedding photographer!
Last week, weather forecasters predicted an ice storm for our area. Not wanting to be stuck at home without heat or electricity with three small children, we decided to head south to Kori's parent's home in Mena. Well it turned out that the winter storm moved south to Mena, and we ended up losing power down there a couple of times! I did try and find some beauty in the frigid weather, focusing on the trees in the folk's yard (it was too cold to venture much further than that!)
All this snowy weather we've had lately put us in the mood to peek through our Christmas photos! We enjoyed the holiday so much this year, spending time with family and making the most of a very rare White Christmas here in Northwest Arkansas. We threw some of our favorite snapshots into a slideshow. Click below to check it out! : )
